“Every time you are tempted to react in the same old way, ask if you want to be a prisoner of the past or a pioneer of the future.”
- Deepak Chopra
WHY PIONEER SPIRIT ?
The Meaning Behind the Name
I chose the name Pioneer Spirit because I want to help people embrace the bravery and spirit of adventure that symbolizes the pioneer; a person who risks hardship and failure to reach a destination never explored before. The Pioneer Spirit is one of resourcefulness and fearless discovery. These are the same tools we will use to help overcome the obstacles in your own life.
COACHING, GUIDANCE & SUPPORT
Not Traditional Therapy
Perhaps you are questioning the choices you have made - maybe you are unsure of your next steps or feel you are not living the life you were meant to lead. I will guide you in exploring the challenges you feel are holding you back from being the person you want to be.

Our pioneer roots began with the 'hunter-gather' societies. Tracing our primitive roots is where our work begins. We will explore how hunter-like thinking influences how we react to modern day problems.

MY WORK WITH MEN
I believe that men are faced with conflicting expectations in our society that can lead them to feel frustrated, misunderstood and isolated. They are expected to be strong yet gentle, fierce yet sensitive, protective but not overbearing. Managing these different roles is not easy. Sometimes men get stuck in one role and cannot transition to another as the situation changes. My goal is to coach you on developing new strategies for addressing these issues and to help you break destructive patterns.

MY WORK WITH COUPLES

Men have a unique approach to problems and challenges that often does not match the communication style and needs of their partners. Sometimes, men need coaching on how to get their message across in a clear, supportive way. This is where my expertise in working with men and couples comes together. My goal is to guide you as a couple to explore new ways of communicating and understanding each other's needs.

MY WORK WITH TEENS

Teens have a limited ability to understand and manage their emotions at their age, yet they are expected to express themselves in a more adult way. They also have a unique communication style which can come across as disrespectful or indifferent. This can be frustrating for their parents and other people in their lives. My work with teens focuses on supporting them through this critical time of physical, emotional and psychological change.

MY QUALIFICATIONS

I have been a mental health worker for over 17 years. My career began here in New Hampshire, where I earned my undergraduate degree in Psychology working with adolescent males in residential counseling. I later went on to earn my master’s degree in Social Work and began focusing on helping couples work with the foster care and adoption system in New England. I also have extensive experience working with the organ transplant population, pre- and post-surgery. Since getting my independent clinical license to become a private therapist, I have focused on men’s issues and mental health treatment from a male perspective.
